I first chatted with Anna Peters at Evolve Events about a podcast six months before we started recording it. She knew she wanted to create a podcast about the events industry and talk to people within it about the challenges facing them. She also wanted to inspire people and others working in the industry.
We worked through series of one-to-one discussions, covering everything about getting a podcast started. This allowed us to shape her ideas from the start. We talked through formats, scripting, trailers, editing, uploading and distribution. By the end of this process, we were ready to start pulling together a series of six episodes.
Anna liked the idea of a ‘backstage pass’ to the most iconic events ever staged. In the podcast Anna interviews people behind the scenes to reveal their secrets about creating extraordinary events. She spoke to guests including Hugh Brasher from the London Marathon and florist Simon Lycett, who created floral displays for Sir Elton John and royalty.
Anna researched guests and booked them; we then recorded remotely via Riverside.fm. I edited the interviews and worked with Mickey our sound engineer from Mix Broadcast to bring it all together. Anna released an episode each week and created Pinterest quotes, YouTube videos and Instagram posts to market the podcast.
The Podcast appeared in the Top Ten marketing podcasts in the UK. Anna will be back shortly with a series of mini podcasts, and the interview podcasts return in 2023.
